For me and my friend the choice was easy, why pay 100 – 300 % more in Denmark when you can have a good, even better, treatment in Turkey, save money and in addition have an enjoyable trip.

My surgery (20 June 2006)
I went to Dr Nusret Bas, all the way from Sweden to do my eye surgery. That is because he has a lot of experience and is very well educated. Of course the price is also a big reason why I decided to go to Istanbul for a lasik. I would lie if I said something else.
But the fact is that no other doctor in Sweden has the same experience as dr Bas. I was very nervous before I met him. But I felt that I had a very big confidence for him. He made a very good impression on me. He was so professional and reliable.
The eye clinic was also very nice and clean with a beautiful garden outside, and everyone that worked there were nice and helpful. The atmosphere was so warm. The surrounding area was very peaceful.I did a lasik surgery (wavefront). The surgery was a little bit scary. I felt so vulnerable. But I think that is quite normal. It is a very strange feeling when the doctor is doing the operation. But it didn’t last for more than a minute per eye so it wasn’t so hard to manage.
I never felt any pain! It doesn’t hurt at all.
My eyes were a little bit dry and uncomfortable for about 2 hours and after that I haven’t had any problems at all.Everyone that I met during my visit in Istanbul has been so great. I always had someone around me that took care of me. I felt more like I was a guest than a patient. Because the service I got was so personally. I also got helped around Istanbul so I could see a lot of things like Aiya Sophia, The blue mosque and Grand Bazaar and so on in the city. I have absolutely nothing to complain on. Everything was so well arranged and planned. Thank you Dr Bas! Thank you Didem and Burcua for making my visit so joyful!
Istanbul really is fantastic. Lasik is fantastic! I see the world trough new eyes now.

…It has been one month now since the journey to Istanbul and here I sit with a fantastic vision: 100 % on both eyes!

I went to the doctor in yesterday for my check-up and I am pleased to tell you that he found everything in perfect order.
He said that the operation I had was perfect and my vision is also perfect.
My eyes are a bit dry still, but I use eye-drops and that helps. So as you can understand

... When I lost my glasses, I thought why not use a little more money and get an eye surgery once and for all, instead of buying glasses for 4000 dkk.
I searched the internet about eye surgery and I came across with an agency organizes health tours. I used a big amount of time searching about criticism because I was a little sceptical because the price was around ½ price compared to Denmark. I did not find anything bad about it.
When I came to Turkey, I had a pre-examination done by the very experienced Dr. Nusret Bas and his assistants. Everything went very fast. I was told that I would have a better vision at my left eye, if I choose to have wavefront LASIK, but that it was my decision to make. I choose too have wavefront LASIK in both eyes.
I had my surgery Friday. The surgery was over in like 15 minutes. I felt fine right away and took on my sunglasses, went outside had a cigarette and made a phone call to Denmark saying that everything went very well.
In the evening I was very light sensitive while having dinner but the next day it was gone. When I went to have my check-up Saturday, Dr. Nusret Bas told me that my vision was 100% in both eye and I feel that my vision is better now than before when I wore glasses.
Now it is one month since I had surgery and my vision is still perfect – it is a little miracle for me!!!
I haven’t had any problems in any way and the only thing I regret is that I did not have surgery like 10 years ago!!
